I am Mr. Carlos Teodoro C. Florendo Jr. I am 39 years old, male, Filipino, and married. Furthermore, I graduated with a course in Culinary Arts at Team Skills-School in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines in October 2014. And, I also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines in March 2007.

 

I worked as chef de partie at Opso Dubai (Modern Greek Restaurant-Fine Dining) located at The Dubai Mall, Dubai, UAE, from 19th March 2019. My duties and responsibilities are the following: cooking meat and poultry in various methods of cooking, especially in the ovens and grills; assisting the sous chef and executive sou’s chef; my daily functions are to obtain a high-quality preparation and cooking in various methods to create a more palatable menu item; I am assigned in the hot line and cold section.

 

I had my practicum at Crown Regency Hotel & Towers located in Osmena Boulevard, Cebu City from October 2014 up to November 2014. My duties and responsibilities in all of these experiences include cooking, handling, and storage of meat, poultry, seafood, and local produce. I was also trained and learned the various methods of cooking, such as searing, braising, grilling, baking, roasting, and sauteing perfectly. It is part of my training and practicum to learn how to manage a kitchen on a commercial or domestic scale. And, that mathematical skills in measuring ingredients and time management are quintessential in kitchen management, whether big or small. I also learned that food preparation and food presentation are a must in the whole totality to create palatable dishes by global cultures and traditions.

 

I received a Leadership Award with Team Skills School for Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management; in recognition of utmost discipline, theory, and responsibility; being able to lead the batch; taking pride in hard work and cooperation, and actual kitchen hands-on. I acquired a National Certificate in Cookery NCll with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the Philippines. Not only that, but, I am proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I have six (6) years of experience in data analysis, data encoding, web research and interpretation, and report generation. Having filing, clerical, and messenger skills and proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language at the business level. Lastly, I have driving skills with a driver’s license in my country, a fitness coach, nutritionist with certificates, and a diving instructor in Dubai.
