Position Profile
NerdWallet is searching for an analytical Business Development Associate to scale and optimize commercial revenue pipelines within its Small Business (SMB) Lending Marketplace. This strategic, partner-facing professional will manage a portfolio of premium lending entities, analyze marketplace transaction behaviors, steer technical integrations, and construct data-backed commercial frameworks to improve lead conversion quality and overall ecosystem yields.
Main Duties

Manage and scale a portfolio of high-value SMB lending integrations, safeguarding operational health and maximizing shared revenue pools.

Direct the strategic onboarding and system integration lifecycle for new financial institutions joining the marketplace.

Monitor product-level performance trends, utilizing marketplace analytics to build business review documentation for internal and external executives.

Formulate data-driven negotiation parameters to secure competitive partner pricing, revised contract terms, and exclusive placement opportunities.

Partner with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to deploy new marketplace features, presenting formal business cases for platform enhancements.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA is preferred.

Professional Background: 4 to 5+ years of strategic account management, partnership development, or business development experience, with explicit experience managing the supply side of a two-sided digital marketplace.

Technical Frameworks: Strong analytical capabilities with data tools; familiarity with CRM platforms and diagnostic systems such as Salesforce, Jira, Mode, or SQL is a plus.

Core Aptitudes: Excellent business development instincts, negotiation capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and comfort operating in a high-growth fintech climate.
