Role Overview

Sumo Sushi & Bento is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support its corporate finance division in the UAE. This position is structured for entry-level professionals or recent graduates looking to cultivate practical accounting expertise within a prominent hospitality brand, focusing on daily transactional recordkeeping, database integrity, and structured spreadsheet auditing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily financial and accounting workflows by processing ledger transactions and verifying expense submissions.

  • Build, format, and balance routine financial reports and fiscal summaries utilizing advanced functions in Microsoft Excel.

  • Archive and organize physical and digital accounting documents, invoices, and bank statements to ensure compliance with auditing standards.

  • Cooperate directly with senior management to resolve ledger discrepancies and expedite month-end reconciliation deadlines.

  • Adapt quickly to high-volume clerical demands to maintain up-to-date corporate balance tracking.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related quantitative field.

  • Technical Strengths: Strong core knowledge of fundamental accounting principles (debits, credits, and journal entries) alongside high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Soft Skills: Sharp organizational capabilities, a fast learning curve, and a proactive attitude toward learning enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

  • Communication: Articulate verbal and written communication traits suitable for corporate team environments.
