Key Responsibilities:

  • The Custom Clearance Officer is primarily responsible for keeping track of and organizing material that are either being shipped or being received.
  • Manage all logistics operation including all logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Co-ordinate and provide logistics support to on-going air, land and sea operations in the area.
  • Support other logistics staff in department as needed.
  • Plan and organize work to be resourceful and use initiative.
  • Liaise with shipment companies and customs to obtain required documentation for shipment release
  • Review the existing logistics method, and suggest any improvements that are required
  • Prepare shipment clearance letters, in coordination with the related sectors (shipping agencies) and relevant departments.
  • Plane organize & coordinate with the relevant departments for the dangerous shipments (MOD, MOI, police departments, GHQ)

HSE Roles and Responsibilities:

  • comply with reasonable OSH instructions and safe working procedures.
  • use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
  • be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • not wilfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety.
  • assist with the preparation of risk assessments; and
  • report OSH hazards, incidents, and issues

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant field
  • Certified Professional Logistics qualification or training.
  • Minimum two to three years of experience in Logistics.
  • Understanding the confidentiality matters pertaining to Procurement & Supplier Qualifications.
  • Must have good negotiating skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relation with forwarding agents and transporters
  • Must have ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment and to deal patiently and tactfully with staff members and others.
  • Must have high degree of accuracy and competency required together with the ability to work systematically and to communicate complex matters both orally and in writing.
