Salary: AED 5,000 to 10,000 per month (Estimated)

Experience Required: Minimum 2–4 years of accounting experience (Travel & Tourism industry experience preferred)

Position Profile

Roots & Routes Tourism L.L.C. is seeking a detail-driven Accountant to oversee financial operations for its Dubai team. This role focuses on maintaining accurate general ledgers, processing daily travel billing transactions, executing monthly account reconciliations, and ensuring full compliance with UAE Value Added Tax (VAT) standards.

Main Duties

  • Record daily financial transactions and oversee routine bookkeeping logs within the general ledger system.

  • Formulate monthly financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow updates for executive review.

  • Perform detailed bank, vendor, and customer account reconciliations to isolate and resolve ledger discrepancies.

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and staff expense filings.

  • Calculate, prepare, and file quarterly UAE VAT returns in direct compliance with local tax authority guidelines.

  • Assist in assembling audit trails, organizing financial archives, and supporting annual corporate budget forecasts.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related academic discipline.

  • Professional Background: 2 to 4 years of proven accounting experience, ideally within the travel, agency, or tourism management sectors.

  • Technical Frameworks: Hands-on proficiency navigating cloud-based financial platforms (such as QuickBooks, Odoo, or Zoho Books) alongside advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.

  • Domain Mastery: Practical, up-to-date knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, local tax compliance requirements, and double-entry bookkeeping rules.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication abilities; Arabic language skills are considered an asset.
