Position Profile

Anchorage Shipping Line is bringing on a proactive Accountant with 2 to 3 years of specialized NVOCC or Main Line maritime experience to join its finance department in Dubai. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for overseeing accounts payable and receivable balance sheets, drafting accurate Statements of Accounts (SOA), processing freight billing files, and maintaining general ledger integrity within the maritime shipping sector.

Main Duties

  • Generate, audit, and distribute detailed Statements of Accounts (SOA) within established corporate timelines.

  • Administer accounts payable workflows, verifying vendor line items and executing approved disbursement transactions.

  • Oversee accounts receivable, processing outgoing freight invoices and conducting systematic customer collection follow-ups.

  • Balance general ledger entries, perform routine bank and account reconciliations, and correct record discrepancies promptly.

  • Monitor balance sheets and aging reports to ensure operational compliance with organizational finance standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related field of study.

  • Professional Background: 2 to 3 years of hands-on accounting experience gained specifically inside Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) or Main Line shipping organizations.

  • Core Competencies: Proven mastery of SOA generation, AP/AR cycles, general ledger management, and maritime freight billing models.

  • Residency Requirement: Applicants must be current residents living locally in Dubai, UAE.
