Role Overview

Goldbelt, Incorporated is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join its shared services team based out of Herndon, Virginia. This remote role is responsible for supporting payroll operations across multiple corporate subsidiaries, managing digital employee data assets, monitoring multi-state payroll accuracy, and maintaining compliance with internal standard operating procedures.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Systematically monitor and audit employee timesheets to eliminate logging errors.

  • Support high-volume weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll processing runs.

  • Audit and verify incoming new hire onboarding data within internal payroll profiles.

  • Track post-payroll documentation and compile routine payroll accounting updates.

  • Execute deductions for 401K retirement programs, tax levies, child support orders, and official wage garnishments.

  • Investigate payroll discrepancies and respond to individual worker payroll inquiries.

  • Assist with third-party compliance reviews, including corporate 401K, workers’ compensation, and Department of Labor (DOL) audits.

Core Competencies

  • Education: Associate degree preferred (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Technical Ecosystems: Practical experience using ADP Workforce Now is preferred; familiarity with Deltek Costpoint systems is a distinct advantage.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude, sharp attention to detail, and a proven ability to process delicate personal financial data securely.

  • Software Tools: Practical operational fluency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite for creating calculation worksheets and internal tables.
